USPA NEWS - The 36th edition of the Mille Miglia 2018 will start from Brescia on May 16 and will end on Saturday may 19 with stages to rome and back passing through the towns of Cervia-milano Marittima and Parma. Four days of travelling and enjoying the most beautiful places in Italy. Registration will open on October 24. as per tradition, the date is one week before the Monaco Formula One Grand Prix
Respecting the tradition which dates back to 1927, the route will start and end in Brescia travelling through Italy to the turning point in Rome. Every year, the route undergoes modifications in order to take the Mille Miglia to the places it has not passed through for some years. as in 2017 the Mille Miglia will be held in four stages but there is something new in 2018! This year the start will be given a day earlier than usual on a Wednesday instead of Thursday. The final ceremony will be held on Saturday giving way to the long Night of The Mille Miglia in Piazza della Loggia.
The first leg will be making it's way through Desenzano, Sirmione , Parco Sigurtà and Mantova, Ferrara and Comacchio stopping in Cervia-Milano Marittima. The next day the participants will end the second leg of the race in Rome and on the third day they will make their way to Siena. Among the novelties of the 2018 edition: a passage to Lucca and along the Versilia.
The restoration of the ancient road will allow the Mille Miglia to travel through a section of the route that was part of the race back in 1949, between Sarzana and Passo della Cisa. The third leg will end in Parma and the next morning, the final day, the competitors will return in Brescia crossing the finish line.
440 vehicles will be allowed to participate: in order to be selected they must meet strict requirements.
